ENSP photo workshops

The ENSP offers photo workshops with Aurore Valade, one Saturday per month from November 2021 to June 2022 at the school. The practical and theoretical workshops propose an introduction to photography alongside theoretical and historical considerations. The work produced over the year will be brought together in a group presentation.

Participants will work on image-making using different types of cameras (smartphone, digital and analogical), printing (digital and analogical B&W) as well as the presentation and diffusion of images.

Each session will include a period of discussion around photographic artists and the history of photographic practices as well as a period of image analysis and editing as a group of each participant’s work in order to discuss together the aesthetic and technical choices that have been made.

The year will be organised around themes such as the portrait, street photography, architecture, and landscape, in order to build a visual vocabulary where images work together as vehicles to articulate experience and emotion.  Attention will be given to projets individually as well as as a group. The end of the sessions will result in a group production bringing together a selection of the work produced.

School resources including the auditorium, workshops, studios, the library and darkrooms will be made available for the workshops as well as lighting and shooting equipment where required.

The workshops are open to all over 18 years old.
