Simone Nieweg

The German photographer is presenting her work as part of the “La Friche” project, coordinated by artist and teacher Tadashi Ono.

Simone Nieweg is a German photographer who lives and works in Düsseldorf. She earned her master’s degree from the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf between 1984 and 1990, where she studied under Bernd Becher.

Simone Nieweg photographs the agricultural landscapes of rural Germany. She has had solo exhibitions at the National Museum of Photography, Film and Television in Bradford, UK, and at the Kunsthalle Bielefeld in Germany. Simone Nieweg’s works are included in several public collections, including the Saint Louis Museum of Contemporary Art, the Huis Marseille Museum of Photography, the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Saint Louis Art Museum, the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, and the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.
